Kick 2 Movie Review, Rating and Box Office Performance.

The much awaited Kick 2 finally arrives, The Masters of Kick Surender Reddy and Ravi Teja are at it again. Will the Ravi Teja and Rakul Preet Singh starrer do better than the previous movie or will it succumb to the pressure of being a sequel, here is the review of the performances and the story of Kick 2.

Plot of the movie..

Kick 2 is basically not a sequel to Kick but a different story, Ravi Teja character is the son of Kick’s Kalyan (Ravi Teja) There end the similarities, the cast might be same, but their characters are different.

Ravi Teja’s Character is named as Robin Hood, he comes to India to settle a Land dispute, due to some unavoidable circumstances, he will be pulled to a village in Rajasthan and how and why he takes up the problems of the villagers forms the plot of the movie.

Highlights of Kick 2…

Ravi Teja as Comfort Robinhood excels in his role, if Kick was made for him, so is comfort.  He was stylish and in fact a delight to watch in the film. He does his character to perfection as it is tailor made character, his acting, comedy and action sequences are top notch.

The last 20 minutes of the movie will be a treat to the fans who would be thrilled to watch typical Ravi Teja characterisation.

Rakul Preet Singh as Chaithra looks glamorous and has played her part with ease from romancing the hero and to the dancing to the tunes of the music director.

Ravi Kishan as Soloman Singh Takur will be seen as a serious villain in this film who is rather loud and menacing. The don who is always on a killing spree.

Brahmanandam acts as Pandit Ravi Teja and delivers some of the best comedy in the first half  and there is no more of him.

Having many character actors like Sanjay Mishra, Rajpal Yadav, Kabir Singh Duhan have given some decent performances, Thanikella Bharani is impressive in his Character.

Music by Thaman was Ok for songs, the background music was decent. Manoj Paramahamsa’s cinematography and Goutam Raju’s editing were top quality.

On the Flip Side…

The Defining moment in Kick was the little girl in the hospital, but in Kick 2 there are no defining scenes that would elevate the comfort characterisation of Ravi Teja.

The Second half of the movie, becomes more serious and takes the path of complete action, a little more comedy here would have made the movie better.

Actors like Srinivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, Kovai Sarala and several others who are capable to make more comedy have not been given meaty roles. Posani who had a meaty role in Race Gurram is limited to a single sequence in this film.

Box Office Performance.

The movie has opened to a mixed response from the audience, the movie is promoted as the sequel to Kick which was a run away success at the box office.

Kick 2 openings will be huge everywhere it is released, but the sustenance of the openings will be difficult, as the movie will test the patience in the second half of the movie until the last 20 minutes.

The movie might end up making around 30+ crores at the box office and will stand as one of the big movies in the career of Ravi Teja.

Hit

Kick 2 is not a sequel to Kick, Its a one time watch as the movie drags a bit in the second half just till the climax. Ravi Teja is in his elements once again.
