KS Ravikumar disappoints Rajinikanth Fans Bigtime.

After the initial hype has subsided, the reports of the movie bringing huge losses to the distributors is very disturbing. 

If it is a Rajnikanth’s movie, fans expect something from him by default. His oneliners combined with his unique mannerisms and body language add a lot of value to the movie. Superstar fans mob towards the theaters to enjoy such mannerisms from the superstar. Rajinikanth has created a brand for himself that has huge stakes in the movie business, but when the brand fails to deliver, the disappointment is huge.

KS Ravikumar’s Lingaa heading towards a huge disaster.

But his latest film ‘Lingaa’ has very few scenes that could bet on the superstar’s unique style and mannerisms and those special punch lines. Except a couple of scenes like the climax scene which is typical rajnikanth scene, there aren’t reasons for the fans to be thrilled much. Now they are blaming director KS Ravi Kumar for not paying much attention to the script of the movie because the story is outdated and well written script exploiting Rajnikanth’s style would have done the magic.

Rajinikanth fans disappointed on his birthday.

When one of his films is ready for release, it is like festival time for his fans. The whooping businesses his films make leave the trade pundits in astonishment for his unmatchable status in the industry.

In the career spanning more than 40 years not even one film of his released on his birthday. He did variety of films essaying variety of roles but no birthday release till date. But Lingaa is going to set record in this way also. Lingaa which released on his Birthday as a return gift to his fans, but the unexpected took place Lingaa could not win the hearts of the fans.

The much awaited movie was released, the hype created was reaching the skies as with every Rajinikanth movie, but the disappointment is huge. The first weekend as it was already booked, the movie might get the much needed initial boost, but after the weekend, it’s going to become difficult for the movie to sustain at the box office.

The Insurance Policy taken by the producers won’t safeguard the losses by the movie.

Business Standard estimates suggest the size of the cover could be well above Rs 200 crore. This includes upwards of Rs 100 crore for production cover apart from cover against force majeure incidents that could disrupt the screening of the film.

Insurance companies compensate film production houses for delays and losses due to adverse weather conditions, natural disasters, damage to property and injury to actors during shooting. Sudden illness among the main cast of the film due to food poisoning is also covered by such policies.

Acts of terrorism, perilous activities, disappearance, unexplained inventory shortage, war or invasion are excluded from the cover. Some policies also cover the advance paid to film stars.
