Son of Sathyamurthy Movie Review, Analysis and Box office performance
Allu Arjun and Trivikram have both come off huge hits Race Gurram and Attarintiki Daredi respectively and have teamed up for the second time after Julayi to deliver another family entertainer in S/o Satyamurthy (Son of Satyamurthy). Let us look into Son of Sathyamurthy Movie Review, Analysis and Box office performance.
S/o Satyamurthy is the story of a young guy, Allu Arjun, whose rich kind hearted father Prakash Raj loses everything due to business losses and leaves the family in huge debt. Satyamurthy Aka Prakash Raj also helps people and is a morally upright person; his son follows his father’s principles and tries to bring back the lost honour to the family.
Allu Arjun: Allu Arjun has given a restrained performance in the movie and this is a very new avatar for him. Instead of his usual exuberance, there is soberness. It has suited the character well. He looks quite stylish.
Samantha: Samantha has given a decent performance as Sameera.
Nitya Menon: Nitya Menon shines in a brief role in the movie, her character brings a lot to the story though small.
Adah Sharma: Adah Sharma’s sweet little character was just ok.
Rajendra Prasad: Rajendra Prasad is good and he has got a lot to do in this movie to carry it forward, especially in the second half.
Brahmanandam: Brahmanandam gives the much needed comedy relief in the movie. He along with Rajendra Prasad have done enough for the movie to become a decent watch.
Upendra: Upendra as usual has given his best, he looks good as a village strong man and has a portrayed his role perfectly and is ably supported by Sneha who just lights up the screen when ever she enters.
Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Upendra, Rajendra Prasad, it is a treat to watch these actors on the screen. Son of Satyamurthy marks late MS Narayana’s last on-screen appearance.
Highlights of Son of Satyamurthy.
1. Allu Arjun – He looks stylish as always, delivers a good performance.
2. Upendra – Upendra’s character adds a lot to the movie going a notch up.
3. Trivikram’s Dialogues are good as usual.
4. Emotions and sentiments have been showcased well.
5. Climx of the movie is good.
6. Good production values.
On the flip side:
The first half of the film is too slow , you don’t get what you expect from a Allu Arjun movie.
Placement of songs, spoils the flow of the movie.
Ali’s comedy does not really work in this movie. Vennela Kishore has been wasted in a meaningless role.
Allu Arjun and Samantha’s romantic track would have been better.
Analysis and Box office Performance.
Son of SatyaMurthy come with huge expectations as Allu Arjun and Trivikram and come together after delivering their career best hits.
The movie is loaded with good actors and a lot of character artists, but with such a huge star cast it is important to provide ample scope for every one to perform.
The director seems to have thought that having a huge star cast would make the movie better than his previous hit. This can generate enough hype but the story is a regular family drama with nothing new to offer.
The movie will generate good openings as this is summer movie, but the long run and the potential to go on to become a hit will depend on how the family audience receive the movie.
The movie is just average and will end up collecting less than 40 crores share for the distributors at the box office. The theatrical rights of the movie have been sold for a huge sum of 54 crores. The movie might find it difficult to recover the investment for the distributors.
